PARACHUTE

fly.

❀❀❀

While I'm waiting for an illustration to dry, I've just found this picture. It's a bookmark I made for Davide, the guy that I couchsurfed with, this summer in Padova. I upload it anyway, it's late I know, for the last week Illustration Friday: fly.

La canzone di Marinella

(prima parte)

Però l'energia e l'entusiasmo raccolti in quell'ultima settimana di agosto me li porto dentro ancora adesso.

❀❀❀

This summer I've been to Padova for a week, to attend an illustration course with the magical, marvellous and incredible Anna Castagnoli, who taught us how to make a picture book.
One week is never enough for anything. But I still got energy and enthusiasm and I'm keeping them for the incoming winter!
So, week after week, I can now say to have finished my very first picture book, cover and endpaper included.

Et voilà!

LA CANZONE DI MARINELLA
MARINELLA'S SONG

40X30 CM, COLLAGE AND MIXED MEDIA

QUESTA DI MARINELLA E' LA STORIA VERA
CHE SCIVOLO' NEL FIUME A PRIMAVERA

MA IL VENTO CHE LA VIDE COSI' BELLA
DAL FIUME LA PORTO' SOPRA A UNA STELLA

SOLA SENZA IL RICORDO DI UN DOLORE
VIVEVI SENZA IL SOGNO DI UN AMORE

versione definitiva

MA UN RE SENZA CORONA E SENZA SCORTA
BUSSO' TRE VOLTE UN GIORNO ALLA TUA PORTA
(prima versione da me scartata - first version discarded by myself)

...to be continued...i'm still scanning at Giulia's!

Cuisine et gourmandises

Ho deciso: quest'anno partecipo anch'io!
Yummi!

❀❀❀

So, I decided: this autumn started with plenty of competitons to apply. And I'm hard working.
After having sent my illustrations to Bologna and to Korea, i've finally decided to apply also to the Projet 7. Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Last year books are beautiful! And this is indeed my favourite one.
This year well be working on Cuisine et gourmandises theme. Yummi!

petit à petit

Après Noël, Madame Saint-Dizier a appris à tricoter.
COLLAGE, ACRILICI E PASTELLI

❀❀❀

Me too, as Madame Saint-Dizier, I'm learning how to knit, and I've started knitting and knitting a lot of things. I mean, dalily life things. Plenty of balls of thread and puppets lye on my floor, and i'm also woring on some workshop I'd like to do with psychiatric comunities. But it's hard work, still have to think about it.

I miss a bit my ancient job, when I used to work in a children's bookshop and then started editing childern's book. Yes, I miss all that so much. But, little by little, I'm creating some good new entries. In example, my portfolio!

Poi, finalmente, l'ho cucito.
Speriamo che a Claudia piaccia!

...and his name is Arthur.
Over than a year ago I promised to a friend of mine to make her a puppet dog.
Then a month passed by, then another one slept away. Then I had nothing but a draw about this dog.
Then, finally, I sewed it.
I hope she will like it!

CouchSurfing

PENCIL AND CHARCOAL

PENCIL AND WATERCOLOUR

❀❀❀

Oh yes, after moving and troubles and in the meanwhile of the neverending works in progress, I'm back as a couchsurfer!
And this is my french guest Alexis, having a deep nap on the couch after our huge lunch.
It's a pleausre to host him: kitchen is always clean and little slices of fresh watermelon are always waiting for me in the fridge...oh what a blessing!

ON MY DESK...

ACRYLICS ON WOOD

❀ ❀ ❀

Just peeping on my desk...
This is a wood flower of sun, it still needs to be pierced and hung up. It's like there was a squared part of mirror, and then me with my eyes closed...

p.s. excercies for sharp observers: an intruder foot and a big teethed rabbit!

GOUACHES AND ACRYLICS

Qualche sera fa tornavo a casa in bici, a notte fonda.
❀ ❀ ❀

Some days ago, late at night, I was riding back home flat out on my favourite square, somewhere between via Cadore and corso Lodi - always forget the name but riding on it it's always so soft... The fullmoon was infinite, and I swam for a while into the blu sky.

A MILLION BUTTERFLIES

PAPER BUTTERFLIES
(essay from my huge collection)

❀❀❀
I've always had an insane passion for paper: the smell, the texture, the crispy sound. When Iwander between bookshops and libraries, I always collect every kind of coloured brochure, just to have something peculiar, in case of...
And also, isn't it beautiful the sound of scissors and paper? scrap, scrap, scrap...
